English Travel Poster produced in 1927 for the Great Western Railway (GWR) to encourage rail travel to the Cornish Port of Penzance. Due to its pleasant all year round climate and the good fishing, hunting, golf and tennis it became popular as a Resort and was promoted as ‘The Ideal Holiday Centre’. The poster shows a view of the harbour with fishing boats in the foreground, and the bay, town and surrounding countryside in the background. Artwork by S C Rowles.
