Through the aperture: Kew Gardens Illuminations

Kew Gardens Christmas Illuminated Trail - lotus light, glass house, illuminations, palm trees, carousel

Pictures taken from the illuminated Christmas Trail at Kew Gardens. I mentioned this some months ago in my weekly edit and we finally went on the last day it was running last weekend. It was absolutely, truly magical and despite the arctic rain and wind I was enchanted.

The main highlight for me was the gorgeous lotus flower light and its resplendent reflection in the water. I also loved the bright pink lighting on the palladian building with palm trees. I imagine it was originally installed as a nod to the Georgian aristocratic habit of collating elements of sites of the grand tours and there was something fabulously L.A and almost brash about it illuminated in fluorescence!  I highly recommended this event to anyone with a playful sense of enchantment when it returns next year, you won’t regret going.
