Kalahari Vignettes Anthropologie Wallpaper

It’s been a while since I last posted on wallpapers and there are so many eye catchers on the market. I saw some great ones at London Design Festival in September, patterns are a bit of a weakness for me so this was truly testing ground, but I haven’t got round to sharing them all yet. Some are pretty neutral, others perhaps more fitting on the ubiquitous feature wall which I’m a big fan of, it can be a great and inexpensive way to feature art in a room, and some high end ones really are like pieces of art. It seems fitting that I post this today as I am going to use Ted’s afternoon nap to remove some anaglyphta from the hallway in our new house. I include a few American papers as some people are happy to shop internationally (or are reading from other countries) and in fact I have ordered the wallpaper in the main image for my downstairs loo from Anthropologie’s American website. Here is my smorgasbord of favourites,  Enjoy!Read More

Covetable Tiles, Tiles, Tiles…

January 12, 2016

marble tiles shapes

Love, love, love. I am totally in love with the tile trend that is everywhere at the moment. I have spent a large part of the last year, maybe more than I care to admit to, drooling over tiles, non-committaly but emphatically in love with so many. I may be a bit late to the party, as 2015 really was the year of tiles as design statement, but I am so taken with them. The trend had been creeping up for a while, maybe it’s because I spend too much time on Pinterest Read More

Scandi Colour Pop geometric bedroom

So, it’s all been a bit quiet on the blog front whilst we move and now that we have left the old apartment I have been thinking about our old bedroom and the dilemmas new design choices present. I thought I would share some pics I took before we left which I am using as an initial mood board for our next bedroom. I was really happy with our bedroom design, it always felt Read More

Cornucopia of Cosiness for the home

October 5, 2015

Throws cushions, Custhom, T&shop, Margo Selby, Another Country, Melin Tregwynt, Lapuan Kanruit

If there’s one thing I often feel envious of in other peoples homes it’s their home decor knits, I’m a full sewn knitwear fanatic. There’s a running joke in our household that when fashion packages arrive during winter-time it probably contains yet more cardigans or knits for me(!). I guess it follows that if you love both pattern and texture then knitted pattern will be a big draw within an interior scheme. I know I have done winter post‘s on blankets before, maybe I’ll make this my yearly tradition. So, to celebrate Campaign for Wool’s National Wool Week, here are my current favourite knitted homewares on the market:

Clockwise from top left: A selection from Lapuan Kanruit, I love all of their blankets, particularly this, Taivaanvalkeat blanket, 86.90 EuroRead More

Joseph Cornell: Wanderlust and Interiors

September 21, 2015

Vintage Kitchen collectionImage: Villa Hemma

This month I saw a fabulous exhibition, which ends on the 27th September, at the Royal Academy of Joseph Cornell’s work. Wanderlust is a wonderful and surprising exhibition based around the life’s work of an artist whose obsession with collecting and curating stories led to meticulous research around and amassing of objects. Amongst his cabinets of curiosity were stories of European ballerinas, a Medici slot machine, a huge fairytale castle and one of the best television montages I have ever seen. I loved his Thimble TheaterRead More
