AW17 Ferm Living Autum Winter 2017 Styling and interiors inspiration, scandinavian geometrics and texture

.

Each time Ferm Living launch a new catalogue I positively coo with a mix of envy and delight! Of all the beautiful brands I anticipate new launches from this is the one I set my clock by. And for good reason, not only is Ferm Living’s signature aesthetic a stylists dream inspiration board, it’s also a great barometer for future high street trends. From copper and brass to geometry and pastels, I can’t count the times I’ve seen something in a store that’s taken a heavy dose of inspiration from Ferm Living, they are the template that the high street copies.

They do elegant and modern so well, a mix of simplicity with artisan instincts, their designs are always extremely covetable but also really liveable. The styling is just gorgeous (of course!), relaxed and stylised in equal measure. The new catalogue is entitled Home, and is a return to the importance of home as a symbol of belonging and an environment that nurtures. Those earthy tones, the tactile textures, the contrasting graphic elements, the simple beauty behind each piece, I’m truly smitten. Their signature geometry is still there, as is matt brass and powder coated metal, but there’s also a new focus on texture. Where last season texture was implied through pattern, this season the textures are tactile (I’m dying for one of those make-up bags lower down). And have you seen the new use for the planters above, with the introduction of simple brass trays these very pretty planters become a great small-space storage solution for modern living.

I could very happily live in this catalogue, in fact you may find my nose in it for quite a while yet, but if I had to make a shopping list (oh go on then!) you can find my ten favourite pieces at the end of article. All items have shop-able links to Ferm Living’s Danish website, items will start being rolled out over the coming months, and will of course be stocked in many of the usual UK based outlets. What’s on your shopping list? I’m quite sure I need one of the rust coloured items to complete my home this season!
