Design Junction & Tent London 2015

Had so much fun at Design Junction and Tent London. I started the day at Tent London arriving in Shoreditch at 10am bright eyed and bushy tailed, very far from how I felt 6 hours later with 5 canvas bags with a million pieces of paper and a particularly cumbersome piece of concrete! But wow, what an experience. I genuinely feel a bit spoilt for choice, there was so much great eye catching design at an accessible price point. I come away with a couple of pieces, but my wish list for our next house is now immense – some serious thought on the design brief is now required! As we are going away for the weekend today I am horribly time poor (will probably forget all essential baby supplies at this point) but I wanted to update at least some of the thrills from today’s visits to the shows.
I give you today’s Design Festival through the Aperture:

Dulux Colour Futures 2015

I absolutely loved the Dulux Colour Futures 2015 installation at Tent London, I’m not too sold on their new Colour of The year Cherished Gold but I love this geometric brilliance.

The most ingenious design by Two or Three Things studio, the designer wanted to make a table that looked like a cup of coffee, the wood was so beautiful, its lustre meant that you would easily mistake it for a stone based material, I thought it was a variation on marble until the designer explained. Show stopper for me, just look at that surface detail.

What is it about the words festival and Collaboration, that in the hands of Mini Moderns are always a winner. Love this Design Festival table.

TFL Cafe Design Junction, TFL textiles by Swoon Editions.

N.B I didn’t take any pictures of the Tom Pigeon stall but he gets a special mention, firstly because I have been loving the earrings that I bought by him six months ago at Smug but also because I had no idea that he made things other than jewellery, his posters and notepads were highly covetable.

I have had a ball, next year I hope to pace myself better, stop for food and possibly take in 100% Design too!
