If there’s one thing I often feel envious of in other peoples homes it’s their home decor knits, I’m a full sewn knitwear fanatic. There’s a running joke in our household that when fashion packages arrive during winter-time it probably contains yet more cardigans or knits for me(!). I guess it follows that if you love both pattern and texture then knitted pattern will be a big draw within an interior scheme. I know I have done winter post‘s on blankets before, maybe I’ll make this my yearly tradition. So, to celebrate Campaign for Wool’s National Wool Week, here are my current favourite knitted homewares on the market:
Clockwise from top left: A selection from Lapuan Kanruit, I love all of their blankets, particularly this, Taivaanvalkeat blanket, 86.90 Euro. Custhom’s beautiful Hayward blanket in Aubergine, £325, Custhom. Geo knit lambswool cushion, £40, T&Shop. Not technically a knit, more of a weave, but oh so lovely, Blaze Throw, £385, Margo Selby. Produced by Handmade Alliance for Another country, these Small Stars cushions, £65 are incredible in real life. I know that I have said this before, Melin Tregwynt’s knits are my current design crush, I have no idea which one to choose and four seems too greedy! – Patagonia Throws, £145, Melin Tregwynt.
Clockwise from top left: This has been everyhwere over the last year, and with good reason, its just lovely: House of Rym Honeycomb/Rose Blanket, £56, Northlight Homestore. Another offering from Finnish brand Lapuan Kankurit, CORONA wool blanket, 99.90 Euro, Lapuan Kanurit. This is a must on the list for the new house, its so textured, Multi Pixel Woven Rug, £499, West Elm. Tribal textiles are still catching my eye, this Geometric Wool Pillow by Scout & Whistle £50.66 is great, Scout & Whistle on Etsy. I am seriously in love with Donna Wilson’s collaboration with SCP so am sharing two, first up the Nos Da Throw, £260, and secondly the Bora Da cushion, £75, both Donna Wilson for SCP.
Clockwise from top left: I love the simplicity of this Man & wife wool throw, £74, Scandinavian Design Centre. We have a hot water bottle in this print, but oh my, whats not to love about this Knitted Lambswool Orange Fox Cushion, £62, from Catherine Tough. Me & Ms Pritchard have been having a love affair this season, I love her bold graphic designs, especially this Northerly Cushion, £110, Eleanor Pritchard. Everyone loves a bargain that’s classsy, this is one, Jacquard-weave blanket, £24.99, H&M. I have been deliberating over buying this towel for the best part of 2015, I’ll be really sad if they suddenly sell out, not technically knitwear but gets a special mention, Wrapper’s Delight Turkish Fouta Towel, £35, The Future Kept. Finally a rug i must own, spotted this at Design Junction and my heart skipped a beat, Fig Handwoven Linen & Wool Rug, £680, Waffle.
Clockwise from top left: Really striking chevron piece Tango wool throw £58, Scandinavian Design Centre. I love the autumnul hues of this Houndstooth Blanket, £75, Plumo. Similar to the 1810 throw featured in my Spring Lust List from heals, but in yellow, the Gerda throw yellow, $98, Scandinavian Design Centre.
The kettles boiling, I have decisons to make, which of these snugglesome items do you most covet this winter?
